Sheamus & Randy Orton def. Big Show & Dolph Ziggler
The Celtic Warrior joined forces with Randy Orton to battle World Heavyweight Champion Big Show and Dolph Ziggler in the opening contest of WWE Tribute to the Troops. Sheamus and Orton were ready for a fight, keeping The World’s Largest Athlete and The Showoff reeling. With The Viper dominating Ziggler early in the contest, the World Heavyweight Champion and Mr. Money in the Bank decided to walk away from the bout and were counted out.
SmackDown General Manager Booker T then restarted the match and demanded that a winner be decided. Unfortunately, Ziggler and Big Show were never truly on the same page and Orton and Sheamus took advantage. Despite Orton aggravating his shoulder injury, the teamwork and resilience displayed by The Celtic Warrior and WWE’s Apex Predator — as well as an RKO and Brogue Kick delivered to Big Show — were enough to secure victory.

Randy Orton def. Wade Barrett
Already set to face Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston for the championship gold at WWE TLC in nine days, Wade Barrett prepared to take on the unrelenting Randy Orton — with “The Wildcat” joining the SmackDown announce team.
Whether the English Superstar would be able to keep his full attention on WWE’s Apex Predator with Kofi in the wings remained to be seen.
In the explosive bout that followed — pitting two of the most brutal brawlers in the squared circle against each other — The Viper eventually went for the RKO. But Barrett had enough presence of mind to hold onto the ropes at the last second, sending Orton crashing to the canvas without his prey in tow.
The tough-as-nails Barrett then turned his attention to the turnbuckle, looking as if he would remove it and expose his adversary to a much harder surface. But before he could, though, Kofi leaped up onto the ring apron to protest his action. This opened the door for a recovered Orton to hit the successful RKO for the huge win.

Will The Viper stop The Barrett Barrage on SmackDown?

As SmackDown announcer JBL has become quite fond of saying, “We fight on Friday night.” True to JBL’s word, heading into tonight’s show, the WWE Universe can expect a huge fight between Randy Orton and Wade Barrett — who have engaged in some of the most brutal showdowns in the past year.
After administering a quick and brutal beating to Brad Maddox on Monday night, WWE’s Apex Predator was attacked by The Shield, leaving an angry Viper writhing in pain. Heading into SmackDown tonight, Orton will unquestionably arrive with fire in his serpentine eyes as he looks to take out some frustration on his longtime adversary. For his part, Barrett also arrives to SmackDown with a monkey on his back after back-to-back losses on Raw and WWE Main Event. Without question, the English grappler has to gain some momentum if he hopes to reclaim the Intercontinental Title from Kofi Kingston at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs in nine days. (MATCH PREVIEW)
An angry Viper against a ticked-off bare-knuckle brawler? Yep, there will certainly be some fighting Friday night.
